Everyone knows the legend that is John Peel – and everyone who knows John Peel knows the Peel Sessions.
Here at Storm we have just been given the honour of creating the ‘John Peel Time Machine’ – a searchable app that will allow users to easily access the hundreds of Peel Sessions that were recorded between 1967 and 2004.
The challenge is to manage the size of this dataset in creating a tool that simplifies but doesn’t limit the the richness of the Sessions.
The work is funded by a Talis grant, and will be developing the app using linked data supplied by Kasabi, a new Talis system which aims to make accessing linked data more simple. This is an experimental project for Talis and for Storm – we’ll keep you updated on how it progresses!
