We’ve been shortlisted for The SPARKies Awards 2018

By Holly Breckon

We are very proud to have been shortlisted for FOUR categories in The SPARKies this year!

Competing against some other very talented companies across the South West, we are finalists in the following categories:

  • Best Place to Work in Tech
  • Best Digital Design
  • The Totally Killing It Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award for our Managing Director, David Kelly

What are The SPARKies Awards?

For six years, South West Tech Community, TechSpark, has been shining a light on the very best people, products and companies that make up the tech sector in Bristol, Bath and the broader West of England region.

This year the awards will be held at Motion Bristol on 21 June 2018, and if you’ve been to the SPARKies before you’ll know it’s a night full of digital debauchery, comedy and community with awards for everything from outstanding tech start-ups to mentors, hardware, virtual reality and more.

Why we entered this year’s awards

We wanted to celebrate the successful and fun-filled year we’ve had, delivering cutting edge technology of national and international significance.

From working with a number of innovative tech start-ups to building new websites for successful local businesses and organisations, we’re extremely proud of our clients, their own successes and the work we have created.

Our staff also nominated Storm for the Best Place to Work in Tech, which is a huge compliment for any business. Celebrating Dave and Adam’s revolutionary approach to team management and the fantastic benefits we receive, we’re pleased it has been recognised by the industry.

Our work on the redesign of popular Bath-based bookshop, Mr B’s Reading Emporium, has been shortlisted for Best Digital Design. Having created an eclectic and approachable style to reflect the magic of Mr B’s, they can now compete with the book-selling giants online with their new unique online store.

Finally, we’ve all heard (and made!) the jokes – how can a twelve-year old like Dave be up for a Lifetime Achievement Award?! Well it just goes to show, when you have achieved, contributed and created such incredible things by your early 30s, it certainly deserves to be recognised. Good luck, Dave we’re rooting for you!

We’ve got our fingers crossed for the 21 June, and good luck to all of the other excellent businesses who have been shortlisted for an award!
