Our chosen Charity of the Year

As part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations, we decided to appoint a charity to support throughout the year.

After several suggestions put forward by our team, we ended up choosing TWO charities!

We’re pleased to announce our Charities of the Year are: Designability and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Designability

Designability is a very special national charity based (and founded) in Bath.  Transforming the lives of disabled people and those living with a long-term health condition, Designability are a team of engineers and designers with a passion for creating life-changing assistive technologies. They carry out original research and create products that help people who are facing challenges every day, from babies through to people living with dementia.

From digital task prompters and user-friendly interfaces for driverless cars, to special crayons and the well-known ‘Wizzybug’ powered wheelchair, Designability have created many incredible and innovative life-changing products.

As one of the charity’s Corporate Partners, our team will be volunteering their time and tech skills to help develop ideas and products, as well as assisting the charity with events and fundraising.

Macmillan Cancer Support

We’re sure many of you have heard of this fantastic national charity. Macmillan is one of the best-known cancer support charities in the UK and has touched many lives, including some of our own at Storm.

Providing the support, tools and inspiration patients need to find the best way through their cancer diagnosis, Macmillan are there to provide physical, financial and emotional support.

Including in depth information about cancer and treatments, helping you pay your bills, assigning healthcare professionals to patients, and helping people get back on their feet or to work – these are just a few of the crucial aids Macmillan have to offer.

According to Cancer Research UK, there are more than 990 new cases of cancer every day. This means every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer!

Our team have chosen to fundraise throughout the year to help support Macmillan. We’re currently brainstorming ideas and activities we can do as a team, individually or as a brand to help raise money for this deserving charity.
