We’re proud to launch the new website for the Best Western Abbey Hotel, one of Bath’s best-located luxury hotels. The hotel’s new owners have invested £1.5m in refurbishing one of Bath’s oldest hotels, and they asked us to redesign their web presence to match.
We put together a fresh, more sophisticated online brand for the hotel, showcasing the venue’s stunning facade and cosy interiors with huge imagery and simple, clear typography. The new site includes extended sections for the new Allium Brasserie restaurant, headed by former Michelin-starred chef Chris Staines, and a “What to see in Bath” page featuring the world-famous attractions just around the corner.
The website is fully content-managed through WordPress, utilising techniques and technologies such as custom post types, dynamic sidebars, and custom menus. We also produced custom widgets that seamlessly integrate with the hotel’s Navarino booking system and MailChimp email mailing list. The clean and consistent design is built with HTML5 elements, and makes use of new CSS3 properties whilst remaining compatible with older browsers.
