Well that’s it, another year over. And what a year it’s been!

From award wins to new staff, it’s been an exciting and productive year for Storm.

Here’s a few of our favourite highlights from 2018:

New and exciting projects

It’s been a busy year with a range of huge projects in development for some well-known brands and start-up companies. From brand new websites to building complete digital products for new innovative ideas – all ready to launch for early next year. Some of these include:

Engine Shed– Bristol’s incredible creative space for innovative working, entrepreneurs to collaborate, and businesses to thrive.

We’ve been busy building them a brand new website to reflect their fun and exciting brand personality.

Institute of Coding– the £40 million national initiative to help bridge the UK’s digital skill gap and encourage more diversity in those choosing to study computer science.

Rise– An original and exciting coaching app to help you achieve your goals, record your successes and build motivation.

First Beauty– An innovative new consumer research website, designed to match a customer’s personal ‘beauty profile’ to a range of luxury products to test and provide feedback in return.

Keep an eye out for them in the new year – we’re already excited!

Resident Robot

Remember our friend, Pepper? It’s still here as we help the University of Bath in their research about Ethics in Artificial Intelligence. We look forward to this exciting project developing further in the new year.

Two Award Wins

We won two fantastic Bath based awards which we are incredibly proud of:

Best Agency (Creative Bath Awards 2018)

Best Digital Design (TechSPARK Awards “The SPARKies”) for our work on the Mr B’s Reading Emporium new website

New Rails Developer

This year we also welcomed a new face to the family, Dylan. Dylan joined our Ruby on Rails team and has been working on some great projects including First Beauty and iAM Compliant. Plus, we terrified him by making him come on holiday with us not long after joining.

Quite the initiation!

Two eager interns

We love to pass on our knowledge of the industry and help others gain an interest in the world of digital technology, so we had two lovely work experience interns join us for a few weeks throughout the year.

Leila, a clever and confident GSCE student, and Matt, an aspiring web developer.

Inside the Digital Technology Agency: Open Day

Not only did we support the ever-popular Bath Digital Festival for its 6thyear, we also hosted our own successful open day style event during the week. Visitors got the chance to learn how to code with our developers, pick up some handy design tips from Tom, chat all things digital with Dave, and generally be insulted by Pepper the robot trying to guess your age.

Storm Holiday 2018

And finally, who could forget yet another epic Storm Team Weekend! This year we visited the beautiful countryside of Cornwall in the huge estate of Tregulland. Full of coastal walks, laser tag battles, swimming pool games, sombreros and the unforgettable weather, “Stoliday 2018” was a winner.

Thank you to all of our friends, colleagues and clients who have supported Storm throughout the year.

2019 is set to be a big one, with our TEN YEAR anniversary later in the year. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you all.

Happy New Year Everyone!
