LifeJacket: stopping the growth of male skin cancer

LifeJacket Ecommerce Website Design | Storm Bath

There’s a new sun protection on the block. We’re excited to announce that our project with male skin protection brand, LifeJacket is now live.

Our design and front-end team having been working with the guys from LifeJacket over the past few months to help them bring their new brand and product to life.

What is LifeJacket Skin Protection?

The sun’s ultraviolet rays are responsible for 80% of the damage to your skin all year round and for 90% of skin cancers.

Skin cancer is one of the most treatable, preventable cancers, but often, men ignore abnormalities on their skin, leaving things too long. Nearly twice as many men die from skin cancer vs. women in Australasia, North America and much of Europe – most likely due to being less inclined to use sun protection.

As a cancer survivor, LifeJacket co-founder, Jono, wanted to create a skin protection product that would appeal to men around the world. They found that men often described existing products as being too heavy, greasy, having an unappealing fragrance, and not fitting to their lifestyle.

So the founders, along with a team of scientific experts, created LifeJacket – a high performance skincare and UV protection clothing range, exclusively for men.

What did Storm create for LifeJacket?

To launch this new and inspiring brand to the world, Storm set about creating a clean, modern and energetic website to reflect LifeJacket’s brand and values.

What was clear to us was that this needed to be an exciting ‘lifestyle’ website that not only educated users about their products and skin science, but also storytelling their mission. As a male-only product, it was important that the design was masculine but not overtly so, and without the usual ‘manly’ clichés.

As an international ecommerce site, it needed to be intuitive for users with a clear user journey. We built the website to accept payments from around the world and to automatically display product prices in the local currency of the user. And of course, to function and display content and imagery effectively across both mobile and desktop.

From an operational point of view, the site also needed to integrate well with LifeJacket’s inventory and shipping platforms.

Combatting skin cancer in men

We wish LifeJacket the best of luck launching their new products to the world. They’ve created an inspiring and appealing skin protection product that we know will do a lot of good around the world in combatting skin cancer in men.

We look forward to seeing the brand progress and continuing to support them in the future. Visit the LifeJacket website to have a look around.
