Our lovely clients at the Bath-based bookshop, Mr B’s Reading Emporium, have successfully raised a huge £63,765 in their recent crowdfunding effort.

Having re-vitalised their website and opening up in to the world of online book selling, the team at Mr B’s now have the opportunity to expand their beautifully eclectic labyrinth of a book shop.
Originally setting out with a crowdfunding target of £40,000, Mr B’s asked for help from the general public to help make their dream a reality. Within just 8 days of starting the campaign they had already smashed their target amount, with even more offers still flooding in!
Expansion plans for Mr B’s Bookshop in Bath
By adding the adjacent property to the shop, Mr B’s are planning to create bold new spaces for children, writers, and events, as well as expand the shop in general.
Here’s what they plan to create:
The Wood between the Words
An indoor woodland of books to excite every age group and inspire young readers. The area will be used for storytelling sessions, children’s Reading Spas, and author events.
The Imaginarium
A creative and inspiring space to celebrate the crafts of writing and illustration. This plush, cosy area can be hired by writers and illustrators for up to a week at a time to work on their novels and help to spark the creative process.
A bigger, bolder Mr B’s
With an abundance of additional space, Mr B’s will be adding a second in-house event area to host authors, an illustrators corner, 38 new bays of books and vastly improved accessibility. There will also be two new opportunities for employment!
Plus, with the additional funds raised beyond the £40,000 target, Mr B’s are able to introduce even more improvements such as signage, back of house storage, window displays and much more!
A Bath- based success story
Mr B’s crowdfunding campaign received 847 supporters in just 28 days – an incredible achievement and proof that there is a lot of love for this unique and welcoming high street retailer.

Mr B’s are hoping to start work on the new space this side of Christmas, with the aim of completing the improvements by February 2019.
