Accessibility audits.
Accessibility is an important part of any web app or website. Our team can perform an accessibility audit to identify barriers and provide tailored recommendations for making your product more inclusive and accessible.
Did you know?
Everyone deserves equal access to information and services online. In today’s digital age, it’s more important than ever to ensure your website is accessible. By making your website accessible, you’re contributing to a more inclusive digital world.
Why is accessibility important?
Accessibility can impact your business in more ways than you think. By making your website accessible, you can expand your audience, enhance your brand reputation and improve user experience for everyone. Here are some other ways an accessible website can impact you:
-
Legal compliance
In many regions, accessibility laws mandate that websites should be accessible to people with disabilities, in the USA there is the Americans with Disabilities Act, and in Europe, by 2025 the European Accessibility Act will be in place. Non-compliance with these could lead to costly sanctions.
-
Ethical responsibility
Accessibility is a fundamental human right. It allows people with disabilities to participate fully in society and exercise their rights to information and communication.
-
Improved user experience
Accessible design principles often lead to better user experiences for everyone, regardless of ability. Clear navigation, legible text, and proper colour contrast make your website easier to use.
-
Reduced barriers to communication
Accessible content can reduce barriers to communication. 71% of users with disabilities will leave inaccessible websites to spend their time and money elsewhere.
-
Improved brand reputation
Businesses can improve their brand reputation, customer satisfaction scores, and increase their market share by making their digital platform inclusive.
-
SEO benefits
Search engines like Google prioritise accessible websites, as they provide a better user experience. This can positively impact your website's search engine rankings.
The European Accessibility Act
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2025 is a new law designed to improve the accessibility of products and services for people with disabilities. This includes websites and other online content.
To meet these accessibility requirements, websites must adhere to specific technical standards based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines provide a set of standards for making web content accessible to people with disabilities.
It is important to start preparing for the EAA now, businesses that are affected by the EAA include:
- All businesses operating within EU Member States
- Public sector organisations
- Non-EU businesses that sell products or services to EU consumers
While the EAA applies to a broad range of businesses, there are some exemptions, such as small businesses with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover of less than €2million.
Highly customisable. Globally loved.
