The brief

We created a custom mapping system that let funders and charities select specific areas of interest and exclusion. To enhance this, we developed an interactive map that allowed users to search and view various geographical breakdowns, such as “National Park”, “Council”, and “Parish”.

To further refine search criteria, we built a custom interface for “Focus Areas.” This interface enabled users to select a wide range of issues and population segments they were interested in supporting.

unique challenges

With potentially thousands of categories that the user could select for their funding needs, we had built and designed a number of really clear and clean widgets that would allow people to browse and not feel overwhelmed by its user interface. By simultaneously processing the Ordnance Survey, some tens of thousands of geographic breakdowns can be selected by charities.

We topped everything off with a smart search engine that streamlined the process with a feature that pre-populated the typical 90+ questions in the average funding profile by extracting key information from a users public website, including their Companies House records, and their Charities Commission records to make it as easy as possible. This empowered the charities with easy access to hundreds of grants with a single click, all while only allowing eligible people for grants to apply for funders, cutting down the average time for grant approval by orders of magnitude.

The result

While the back-end magic was being created we refined the Brevio brand for the web with a new logo, fresh and bright colour palettes and characterful iconography and illustrations. The website had to be full of life and inspire people with the possibilities of how Brevio could change the history of their organisations by highlighting the problem and selling the story of revolution for funders and charities alike, one that drives their new game changing system.
