Brand guidelines for AIB.

The brief

Investing in a stronger identity.

Storm collaborated closely with Angel Investors Bristol to understand their audiences and goals. This allowed us to refine their brand concept and communicate their messaging through a clear, scalable website.

We started by refining Angel Investors Bristol’s Clifton Suspension Bridge-inspired logo into a contemporary mark. The icon subtly incorporates the A and I of Angel Investors, referencing both the organisation’s name and its connection to Bristol in a single, recognisable device

Alongside the logo refresh, we introduced a colour palette inspired by Bristol’s landmarks, paired with a modern sans-serif typeface and simplified visual language for a professional, flexible identity across digital and print. The result was a confident brand identity that reflects both the ambition of the Bristol startup community and the experience of the investors supporting it.

Unique Challenges

Heritage meets modern design.

We addressed the challenge of guiding multiple audiences by theming pages with the refreshed brand colours for investors, founders, and ecosystem partners. This clear visual distinction ensures users can easily navigate the site and access content relevant to them.

To demonstrate AIB’s credibility and impact, we created dedicated sections for impressive statistics, featured investments, and testimonial quotes from members. These design choices communicate the network’s successes, reinforce trust, and position Angel Investors Bristol as a professional, connected hub at the heart of the regional investment ecosystem.

THE BUILD

Supporting with solid foundations.

We designed and developed a cohesive WordPress site with a clean, modular layout tailored to three key audiences: investors, founders, and ecosystem partners. Flexible content components allow the AIB team to easily update pages, add resources, and share investment activity.

Tthe result is a professional, scalable platform. In doing so, it not only showcases Angel Investors Bristol’s role in supporting high-growth startups but consequently positions the organisation as a central, trusted hub for investors, founders, and ecosystem partners in the region. By clearly communicating how people can get involved, the site reinforces AIB’s authority, credibility, and leadership within the South West and South Wales investment community.
